Modern Bazaar, India's First Supermarket, completes 47 years of Service this year. Our Success Story started in the year 1971, when Late Shri Vishwant Kumar set up a departmental store selling Imported food products in C-Block Market in Vasant Vihar, New Delhi. Today, in 2018, the name and the legacy of Modern Bazaar has been taken to new heights by the current director, Mr. Kunaal Kumar. 

In 1976, Modern Bazaar shifted to Basant Lok market and grew from being a single floor shop to a four floor food emporium. One of the iconic stores in Delhi, Modern Bazaar has been the shopping destination of Indian celebrities such as Veteran Bollywood Actor Shri Amitabh Bachchan, Politician Smt. Sonia Gandhi and others. This was the fame of Modern Bazaar due to which it became the alternative name of Basant Lok Market. 

Present Director of Modern Bazaar, Kunaal Kumar joined the family business in 1991. In the year 2004 Modern Bazaar had a difficult time due to a fire hazard in its Basant Lok market store. Through dedication, committment and hard work,  director Kunaal Kumar built up a new store in the same place with new energy and enthusiasm and from then there has been no looking back! 

Modern Bazaar now has eight outlets, all run and headed solely by Kunaal Kumar. There are 6 stores in Delhi; Vasant Vihar, East of Kailash, New Friends Colony, Punjabi Bagh, Dwarka and our Premium Store at Select CityWalk Mall, Saket. We have 2 stores in Gurgaon in DLF Phase I and Cyberhub. Modern Bazaar doesn't have franchisee stores. All stores also offer home delivery. 

Modern Bazaar launched its website along with ModernBazaar App on Android and iOS platform in the year 2016, through which customers can order products online and deliveries are made from the nearest store.
